Transverse Flute
This transverse flute or Querflöte is made of rosewood, with rings and valves in silver, and an ivory crown. The B valve has been ruined. The rosewood has multiple cracks and the ivory shows discoloration. The silver keys are bent, and the steel pins are rusted presumably through a combination of physical impact and water damage sustained during its time in storage. Somehow the elaborately decorated crown screw on the head joint is very well preserved.
